We are fortunate enough to have three great new graduate students joining the lab this Fall. Sarah Shawver was awarded an ICTAS fellowship and is starting as a new PhD student this year to work on antibiotic resistance in agricultural soils. Catie Cappellin is starting her MS program (after working as an undergraduate researcher in the lab) and will be working on the microbial ecology of the Dan River system related to taste and odor issues in drinking water. And Steve DeVilbiss is starting his PhD, co-advised by Meredith Steele in CSES, working on dissolved cation impacts on water quality and aquatic microbial ecology. We’re glad to have you all!
